Currently the Horningsea CIC is running the pub under a short term lease agreement with Greene King. The Plough and Fleece Pub is for sale on the open market and therefore is available to be purchased by any interested parties. In order to secure the freehold of the pub we need to raise a significant amount of money from within our community with some urgency.
As it stands many community members have generously pledged their financial support by buying a share offering in the CIC (minimum investment £60, maximum £50,010). We are now working to collect these pledges so that we can purchase the freehold and move forward with our exciting new plans for the pub. Time is of the essence here though because we need to buy the pub before we are gazumped by other interested parties.
If you have pledged money, but have not yet transferred the balance into the investment account, please can you do that as soon as possible. We need funds to meet the initial costs of contracting with surveyors, solicitors and debit/credit card machine plus till lease transfers. Detailed information on how to do this has been forwarded by email to all of those community members who pledged financial support.
Cheques should be made payable to Horningsea CIC and sent to the registered address at Linco Cottage, High Street, Horningsea CB25 9JG. Details of our HSBC account for BACS pay are available on email request: Request bank details – email@example.com
We are also actively seeking external funding from the Big Lottery Village SOS Fund, the Social Enterprise Business Investment Fund and other local and regional sources.
